/ Kuwaiti media confirmed on Wednesday that the Permanent Investigation Committee for the Trial of Ministers in Kuwait referred a former minister to the Ministers Court on charges of forgery related to one of the public money cases.

The local newspaper Al-Rai revealed that the accused is a former Minister of Interior, and is accused of submitting false information to one of the investigation authorities, contrary to the truth, which resulted in the dismissal of one of the public money cases.

The local newspaper Al-Seyassah reported that former Interior Minister Sheikh Khaled Al-Jarrah Al-Sabah is the accused in the case.

Al-Qabas newspaper also confirmed that a former minister had been referred to trial, and quoted an informed source, whom it did not name, as saying that the investigation committee, headed by Counselor Omar Al-Masoud, and including Counselors Saud Al-Sanea and Ahmed Al-Muqallad, summoned the former minister, investigated him, released him on bail, and then took a decision to refer him to trial.

She added that the State Security Service filed the report against the former minister after discovering the forgery in the document that the accused submitted to the judiciary, noting that there are two reports remaining against two former ministers, who will be summoned in the coming days on charges related to encroachment on public funds.

Summoning ministers for investigation is common in Kuwait, especially in recent months, which have witnessed official investigations into corruption cases in several government sectors and ministries.
