Former LREM MP Martine Wonner deprived of medical practice for a year

by time news

The decision of the Council of the Regional Order of Physicians in Nancy fell this Friday: the former LREM deputy and psychiatrist by profession Martine Wonner is prohibited from exercising her activity as a doctor for a year, because of her controversial remarks made during the Covid-19 pandemic.

The former elected will however appeal, reports France 3. She “does not know the reasons for the decision, but she informs now that she is contesting this decision and that, in fact, she will appeal”, indicated her lawyer in a statement.

Martine Wonner had notably claimed for the past two years that the mask “was strictly useless” and that vaccines against Covid could trigger “miscarriages”, “multiple cancers” and transmit “AIDS”. She had also participated in the conspiratorial documentary on the health crisis entitled “Hold-Up”.

Two complaints against her had been filed by the NoFakeMed association and the National Council of the Order of Physicians.

Excluded from the LREM group

A few weeks after the start of the pandemic, in May 2020, his statements led to his exclusion from the LREM group (now Renaissance).

“This vote is part of a long succession of public positions taken by Martine Wonner expressing her distrust of the government and her criticism of its health policy. Consequently, after having heard it (by videoconference) today, the office of the LREM group, in application of its rules, decided on its exclusion”, had indicated the presidential party.
