Fashion & Beauty: Former Miss Uruguay Sherika De Armas Passes Away at 26 After Battle with Cervical Cancer

Sherika De Armas, who represented Uruguay in the Miss World competition in 2015, has tragically passed away at the age of 26. Local media reports that she lost her two-year battle with cervical cancer, leaving friends, family, and the beauty world in mourning.
De Armas, known for her stunning beauty and charisma, captured the hearts of many during her time in the pageant industry. Even though she didn’t make it to the top 30 at the 2015 Miss World contest in Sanya, China, she stood out as one of the young promising talents of Uruguay. Only six 18-year-olds competed in the contest, and De Armas’s poise and grace were undeniable.
In an interview with NetUruguay, De Armas expressed her dreams of being a model and her passion for all things fashion-related. She described participating in Miss Universe as a dream come true and was thrilled to face the challenges that came with the experience.
Outside of the pageant world, De Armas operated the Shey De Armas Beauty Studio, where she sold personal care, makeup, and hair products. She also dedicated her time to the Pérez Scremini Foundation, an organization focused on childhood cancer.
Cervical cancer primarily affects individuals over the age of 30, as stated by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Regular screenings and the HPV vaccine are effective preventative measures against the disease.
In the wake of her passing, friends and family, including her brother Mayk’ De Armas, took to social media to pay tribute to the late beauty queen. Miss Uruguay Carla Romero describes her as “too evolved for this world” and one of the most beautiful women she has ever met.
Sherika De Armas may have left us too soon, but her legacy as a talented model and compassionate soul will continue to inspire many in the fashion and beauty industry. May she rest in peace.
