The former player, Avraham Sabo, passed away at the age of 77. Sabo, who played as a striker, grew up in the youth department of Beitar Netanya and later moved up to the senior team. In September 1965, he asked to enter the quarantine year after he was not released to Maccabi Netanya, but in March 1966 he returned to his team.

At the end of the season, his sale was approved, and he moved to Maccabi Netanya. On April 17, 1971, Sabo scored a winning goal in the 69th minute in the home game against Hapoel Kfar Saba, which gave Netanya the club’s first championship title in the 1970/1971 season.

In 1973, the former striker moved to Beitar Jerusalem and won the team’s first state cup, in the 1975/1976 season. At the end of that season, he left the team and returned to Beitar Netanya. Sabo was a member of the Israeli team and appeared in one game, on November 10, 1970 in a friendly match against the Australian team. He will be laid to rest tomorrow (Tuesday) at 14:00 at the cemetery in Shikon Veterans in Netanya.
