Former Sri Lankan President Gotabaya Rajapaksa is returning to Sri Lanka from Singapore, said Sri Lankan Cabinet Spokesperson Bandula Gunawardena, reports PTI.

President Gotabaya Rajapaksa and Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa, who were responsible for Sri Lanka’s economic decline, stepped down after popular protests intensified. As the people’s protest intensified on the 9th, Gotabaya Rajapaksa escaped with his family from Sri Lanka to the Maldives on the 13th.
