Former Rep. George Santos Claims to Make More Money on Cameo in One Week Than in a Year in Congress

Former Rep. George Santos has made a bold claim, stating that he earns more money in one week on the app Cameo than he would have made in an entire year in Congress. This statement comes amid serious federal charges and corruption allegations against the expelled congressman.

In an interview with CBS New York, Santos stated, “I can tell you that by the end of this week—that is actually factual—I will have made more money in seven days than I would have made [in] an entire year in Congress.”

The former congressman also revealed that he has been using the platform to rake in significant profits, with a source claiming that Santos boasted about receiving 140 orders at $599 each, making a total of $83,860 in a single day.

Santos defended his decision to join Cameo, stating that he was encouraged by a former staffer for Rep. Kevin McCarthy to do so. He initially began selling his recorded messages for $75 a pop and has now increased the price to $500 per video.

Despite facing backlash and criticism, Santos remains unapologetic about his demeanor and actions during his time in Congress. He acknowledged having regrets but expressed confidence in his ability to earn forgiveness from the American public, stating, “I think America is a very forgiving country, and I’m going to work hard for that forgiveness.”

As Santos continues to face legal battles and strive for redemption, his unconventional career path—transitioning from Congress to social media fame—leaves many questioning the intersection of politics and personal branding.
