Former State Attorney: “Netanyahu understands that his legal situation is bad”

by time news

The former state attorney, Moshe Lador, responded to the trial of the designated prime minister in the shadow of the formation of his sixth government: “If he is convicted of the three very light charges brought against him, he knows that the distance from here to prison is short.” He criticized the moves of the future coalition: “In the State of Israel, the face of the rule of law and the legal system are changing dramatically”

Moshe Lador, the former state attorney, commented in an interview with ‘News 12’ this evening (Matchos) on the moves of the incoming government in everything related to the judicial system, and also on the trial of its head, Benjamin Netanyahu.

“Especially in recent years, the public has been spreading spin and misleading it – both with Netanyahu’s trial and with other matters. It’s not that there is no criticism, but the criticism of others is a type of spin that is broadcast in prime time – while taking advantage of the powers of the readers of Balfour’s message pages. They appear on television and destroy the public’s trust in the system.”

The former state attorney added that “in the State of Israel, the face of the rule of law and the judicial system is changing dramatically, in a predatory and extremely difficult way. The first to understand this, the first to oppose it is Mr. Netanyahu. This has been his opinion all these years, and here he apparently agrees to form a coalition that goes together with those who push these initiatives forward.”

According to Lador, “it was not imposed on him”, and attacked the prime minister-designate. “For one unequivocally clear reason – unlike Spin, he and his lawyers understand that he is in a very bad situation in this case. If he is convicted of the three very light charges brought against him, he knows that the distance from here to prison is short.”
