Jimmy Carter, the oldest living former US president, is determined to vote in the November election for Vice President Kamala Harris, his family said, DPA reported.
Carter, who will turn 100 on October 1, has been receiving hospice care since February 2023 at his home in Plains, Georgia.
Harris, who like Carter is a Democrat, is scheduled to face Trump on Nov. 5.
The former president has been interested in politics lately, his grandson Jason Carter told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution over the weekend.
“The only thing I want is to be able to vote for Kamala Harris,” the former president told his son Chip, Jason told the publication quoted by BTA.
Carter served one term as president from 1977 to 1981, and then became known for his humanitarian efforts and human rights initiatives during the long period that followed in his public life.
Carter’s wife, Rosalyn, of 77 years, died last November at the age of 96.
