Former US President Trump released on bail

Washington,

Trump became the president after defeating the Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton in the presidential election held at the end of 2016 in the United States.

Several women have accused Trump of sexual misconduct during the campaign. Starmie Daniels, a pornographic actress, said she had an intimate relationship with Trump and that the two had sex in a hotel room.

While this caused a backlash for Trump in the campaign, it was alleged that Trump, through his lawyer Michael Cochon, paid US$ 1,30,000 (roughly Rs. 1 crore) to actress Stormi Daniels.

Money from election funds

This kind of money is referred to as ‘hush money’. Such payments are not illegal. But Trump’s reaction was that he gave the money from his campaign fund. In other words, the amount paid to Stormy Daniels was recorded as a legal expense on Trump’s campaign income and expense account. It is illegal to show false business expenses in the United States.

However, while Trump flatly denied this, the Manhattan Court in New York State was investigating this matter. In a twist in the case, Trump’s former lawyer, Michael Cochran, testified against him and the trial heated up.

He appeared in person for the investigation

Subsequently, a Manhattan court filed criminal charges against Trump last week. This is the first time in US history that a former president has been indicted.

In this situation, yesterday Trump appeared in person at the Manhattan Court for the investigation of this case. Subsequently, he was arrested under US law. However, considering the high position he held, he was not handcuffed. His fingerprints were recorded. After that, he was interrogated for about 1 hour.

He denied the charges

Trump, who appeared listless during the hearing, answered the judge’s questions with a few words. When the judge read out the 34 charges against him, he denied them, saying, “I have not committed a crime.”

Subsequently, the judge announced Trump’s bail and said the next hearing in the case would be held in December. After that, Trump left the court quietly and immediately flew to Florida. He addressed hundreds of supporters who gathered at his beach house there. Then he said:-

The country is going to hell

This allegation against me is a disgrace to America itself. I never thought this would happen in America. Never thought of it. The only mistake I made was fearlessly defending America from those who wanted to destroy it. We are on the dark side of American history. The country is going to hell.

This world is already laughing at us. Withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan. “A lot of decisions like open borders have made us laugh,” he said.
