On January 6, 2021, Trump’s YouTube channel was disabled. Trump’s YouTube channel has been blocked from uploading any new videos following the agitation by his supporters in Washington at the time. And his channel, which has over 26 lakh followers, has banned anyone from commenting on old videos.

Apart from YouTube, Trump was also banned from other social media platforms like Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. The measures were taken by social media administrations after complaints that comments by Trump and his supporters were inciting violence.

After Elon Musk bought the Twitter company, Trump joined the ranks of his reviving various Twitter accounts that had been banned until then. In addition to Twitter, Trump also regained the disabled Facebook and Instagram accounts of Meta.

After he was banned from Twitter, Trump started his own rival social media app called Truth, which is similar to Twitter. While he was followed by around eight and a half million people on Twitter, the number of followers of its president, Trump, on Truth reached only half a million.

YouTube has come back to life today as disabled social media accounts are returned to Trump, who has announced his candidacy for the next US presidential election. However, it is also noteworthy that Trump has not yet looked back at any of his social media accounts that were recovered.
