“An independent investigation has been initiated into the recent allegations. It will be conducted by an external independent investigator and will be completed as quickly as possible,” said the Red Bull statement, which is available to the SID. Red Bull Racing did not initially respond to a request.

As reported by De Telegraaf and F1 insiders, among others, the allegations involve “cross-border behavior” towards a team employee. However, it is not known in detail what the accusation is.

Briton Horner (50) has been team boss of Max Verstappen’s (Netherlands) world champion team since 2005. The allegation was first reported by the Dutch daily newspaper De Telegraaf, according to which Horner denied the allegation. The new Formula 1 season begins on the first weekend in March with the Bahrain Grand Prix.
