Bahrain F1 GP 2024 on RTL: Will Formula 1 be broadcast live on free TV?
Formula 1 live and free on free TV in Germany: This will happen again in the 2024 F1 season – seven times. Pay TV broadcaster Sky and RTL have agreed on a strategic partnership under which RTL will be able to broadcast seven races from the 2024 racing calendar on free-to-air television.
The Bahrain Grand Prix today is the start: the race today on Saturday (March 2) from the Bahrain International Circuit in Sakhir will be shown live and free of charge on television on RTL. (Read here which six other F1 races will be shown on RTL in 2024).
However, a Sky subscription or the streaming offer WOW (formerly Sky Ticket) is still required to broadcast the free practice sessions from Bahrain as well as the vast majority of Formula 1 races in 2024 live.

Formula 1 live on free TV and stream today: Why is the Bahrain GP today on Saturday?
Attention, Formula 1 fans: The first race of the 2024 F1 season takes place on an unusual weekday. The start of the 2024 Bahrain Grands Prix is today on Saturday (2.3.24), a day earlier than usual. The reason: The Formula 1 postponement has religious reasons. The Muslim fasting month of Ramadan begins on the evening of March 10, 2024. Because there is no desire to hold a Formula 1 race in Arab countries during Ramadan, the start of the second race in 2024 in Jeddah/Saudi Arabia had to be brought forward to Saturday, March 9th.
And given the tight F1 2024 schedule, this also has an impact on the Bahrain race, which was brought forward by one day from Sunday to Saturday.
This means that the first race weekend of the new Formula 1 season also started earlier with its usual program: the first free practice sessions took place on Thursday. Formula 1 2024 live on TV: In Austria, ORF and Servus TV (Austria) will also share the broadcasting rights to Formula 1 in 2024. The 2024 Bahrain Grand Prix today from Sakhir will be shown live on Servus TV.
