(24 News) On the direction of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, a new strategy was formulated to speed up development schemes and projects in Punjab.
According to the details, the review meeting of Punjab’s Annual Development Programs (ADP) under the chairmanship of Senior Provincial Minister Maryam Aurangzeb continued for the fourth consecutive day, “Communication and Works” and “Local Government” schemes were reviewed.
Chairman of Planning and Development Nabil Ahmed Awan, Secretary Asif Tufail, Secretary of other ministries also participated in the meeting. In the meeting, half-year performance, transparency, timely completion and new schemes are being reviewed on the schemes of annual development projects. .
In the meeting, it was decided to start advance work on the new schemes coming in phase two for the timely completion of the projects, while it was also decided to issue the work order for the scheme of every sector coming in the next year in Punjab.
Briefing the meeting, it was told that 904 basic health units have been completed to provide health facilities to the people, 262 billion will be released for all development projects by February next month. In the meeting chaired by Maryam Aurangzeb, it was decided that the cause of polio and stunting is sewage leakage, a plan will be prepared to make a better and sustainable sewage to stop the leakage, for which 100 billion rupees will be spent on additional projects.
For the first time, the “C&W” department wrote a history of quick, efficient and transparent use of funds, 1602 schemes of C&W, 528 continued, 1074 new schemes were added, 376 small roads were instructed to make procedures.

In the briefing, the meeting was further informed that 72 billion rupees have been spent so far for public facilities, this ratio is the highest compared to the last 10 years. Apart from this, the scheme of Wagah border has been started while instructions were issued to complete the Gujranwala Overhead Bridge within the stipulated time.
Maryam Aurangzeb said that “3404 local government schemes, 136 ongoing while 3268 new schemes have been added, water supply restoration projects in Dehla, Raiwand villages of Rawalpindi, garbage disposal sites in Punjab, relocation of bus stand from Sialkot. The progress on the projects was also reviewed.
In the meeting, instructions were issued to make the cover of sewers, pipelines and waste water in accordance with the needs of the local population, it was decided to spend the remaining funds of the Lahore Development Plan on public welfare and priority should be given to Lahore Development and Murree Development Projects. Instructions were issued to continue work on the foundations.
In the briefing of the meeting, it was further said that the Chief Minister’s Sathra Punjab project is low-cost and has been welcomed by the people.
