Like the enemies the players are supposed to fight in Forspoken, it seems that the RAM memory requirements will also be no less monstrous – the minimum requirement of Square Enix’s open world action game is for a computer with 16 gigabytes of RAM.
The game should be launched next week, and in the meantime Square Enix published the system requirements for the game that caused quite a few computer players to raise an eyebrow. According to the minimum requirements, a computer must be equipped with an AMD Ryzen S 1600 processor with a frequency of 3.7 GHz or equivalent from Intel, a Radeon RX 5500 or GeForce 1060 graphics card from NVIDIA and a working memory of 16 gigabytes – these will allow computer players to play In the game at a resolution of 720p and a display rate of 30 frames/second.

Users who want to play in 1400p resolution at 30 frames/second will have to upgrade the graphics card to RTX 3070 or similar and have a working memory of 24 gigabytes and SSD storage with a volume of at least 150 gigabytes. For the best experience, you must have an RTX 4080 or similar video card, 32 GB of working memory and NVMe storage to enjoy the game in 4K at 60 frames/second.
These are high system requirements, especially given the speed of the display and it is not clear whether this is a particularly demanding game or a sub-optimal match for the personal computer. In addition, although it is too early to declare that this is a trend, last year Returnal – another exclusive title of the PlayStation 5 that reached the personal computer – set higher than average memory requirements.
Forspoken is an open world action game that focuses on constant movement and is expected to arrive on the PC and the PlayStation 5 console on January 24.
