by time news

Alianza hosted Fortaleza on date 9 of Liga BetPlay 2024-II, and at the Armando Maestre Pavajeau Stadium in Valledupar, they ended in a 1-1 draw, a result that benefits the Bogotá team more.

Although the match did not feature many dangerous chances on either side and the intensity was not adequate, Fortaleza was the first to score after an important goal halfway through the first half.

Sebastián Navarro surprised the vallenato club with a powerful shot with his right foot from outside the area, which ended up in the corner of goalkeeper Carlos Mosquera’s net.

Alianza tried to equalize before halftime, but their attempts were not very effective, so that slight lead for Fortaleza remained the score at the end of the first half.

However, Alianza improved in the second half, and just 49 minutes in, they equalized with a good finish from Andrés Rentería in front of the goal, who took advantage of an assist from star Emerson Batalla.

After the equalizer from the vallenato team, Fortaleza started to press again and look for the goal that would put them ahead, but Alianza also made the game difficult.

Then, the game lost intensity from both teams, and towards the end of the match, the lights at the Maestre Pavajeau stadium went out, temporarily suspending the game for almost nine minutes.

The game resumed after the lighting issue, and Alianza took a breather that did them good, as they started to create chances towards the end, but could not find a play to secure the victory. Moreover, they suffered the expulsion of Mayer Gil in stoppage time.

In the end, the match ended in a 1-1 draw, a result that leaves Fortaleza in third place in the standings with 16 points, while Alianza is in 12th place with only nine units.
