Fortnite Chapter 5 launch accidentally patched instant-death location
Fortnite Battle Royale players have been eagerly awaiting the release of Chapter 5, Season 1, with the anticipation of playing with Family Guy’s Peter Griffin in-game and leveling up the Battle Pass. However, just before the new chapter started, a major issue surfaced, leaving the community in a frenzy.
After the Eminem Big Bang event concluded, Chapter 5, Season 1 sent most of the community into a long player queue. Epic Games announced that they would be replaying the event for those who missed it due to no fault of their own. Additionally, The Weeknd is set to headline a concert in the game to kick off a new Festival mode in the near future.
Unfortunately, before fans could fully immerse themselves in the new season and its content, concerns arose when a clip surfaced showing a location in the game that could instantly eliminate players in Battle Royale mode.
As seen in footage shared by a Reddit user, an instant-death location was found at Loot Lake when driving a bike into a hut and colliding with a wall. Players were left stunned as the ‘placed 30th’ icon appeared, signaling their untimely demise in the game.
The clip gained traction on the day of the game’s Chapter 5 launch, causing worry among players. However, the Season 1 patch notes revealed that weapon mods, Peter Griffin, and a new train system would be arriving in the update. Fortunately, it was also mentioned that the game-breaking, insta-death location would be automatically patched.
One user reassured others by saying, “Don’t worry bro, they’re fixing this by changing the whole map…”
