Fortnite players hunting for the ultra-rare Pirate Shop Token face a 1 in 137,500 drop rate per chest during normal matches, according to the official Fortnite Status account.
Epic Games disclosed the official numbers after weeks of community speculation and datamined estimates that placed the odds at 1 in 700,000. During scheduled Treasure Hours, the drop rate receives a boost to roughly 1 in 91,667 with a 1.5× multiplier, MMOEXP reports. A second session held on November 7 featured a 2× multiplier that improved odds to about 1 in 68,750.
Despite the steep odds, the Pirate Shop Token is not the rarest reward available in the current Fortnite Treasure Hunters mini-season, which runs until December 5. The weekly gold outfit carries an even rarer drop rate of 1 in 1,562,500, TheGamer notes.
Hey @Pirat_Nation – Buying an account or using fake tools is a scam. This is just like any of the chests in Battle Royale, so every player has an equal opportunity to find Pirate Shop Access.
Other rewards found in chests during the event include weekly vehicle and decal items at a 1 in 7,813 drop rate, weekly pickaxes or back blings at 1 in 568, and weekly jam tracks at 1 in 391. Major chests can also yield special cosmetics such as a Solid Gold A$AP Rocky and Mercedes-AMG G 63 “G-Wagon”, alongside standard gadgets like Sprite Locators, Lucky Locators, Golden Fireworks, Extraction Accelerators, and Portable Extractors.
When a player successfully finds a token in a chest, a notification appears on-screen confirming You found Pirate Shop Access,
Power Up Gaming reports. Players in squad, trio, or duo matches share the reward if a teammate opens the chest containing the token, GAMINGbible notes.

Activated tokens allow players to claim items sold for V-Bucks in the Item Shop for a 14-day period. However, real-money offers, gifting, and Battle Pass levels or rewards are excluded from the promotion, and users can only claim one free sidekick they do not already own, Gamefragger points out.
Unauthorized tools and paid escort services have also surfaced online.

IGN reports that eBay listings for accounts featuring the token have reached up to $10,000 USD. Epic Games warns that buying accounts or using fake tools is a scam and risks permanent bans, noting that every player has an equal opportunity to find access to the Pirate Shop through regular play, LevelUp notes.
