Some days ago Epic Games confirmed on the official Fortnite blog that they had implemented a new age rating system within the video game islands with the aim of ordering the content that players could see; from the smallest to the largest. However, the measure brought a lot of controversy, after confirming that several skins could not be used on some maps of the ‘Creative way‘.
The measure was that if it was a skin with a ‘violent‘ (such as the use of weapons or having a rude appearance) was not permitted on the islands made for minors. If you tried to enter one of them, your skin was changed to one that was allowed. After several days of questioning from fans and even content creators, the developers have listened and backed off their plans.
Through Twitter, the Fortnite official account sent a message to the community about what happened: «Well, our plan for cosmetics with updating ratings missed the mark» they start expressing. Then they point out: «We’re working on some new options that we hope to have implemented for, say… some kind of big in-game event. Stay tuned, we will keep you informed.»
The message was well received by the battle royale community as they are grateful for having been heard. Likewise, it is striking that they mentioned a «big event in the game«, and many are thinking that Epic is already preparing another of its great end-of-season shows that end up being a sensation.
