Delighting the audience at Paléo and Festi’neuch in 2023, with her rocking rap-punk-techno-Latino, Nathalie Froehlich is preparing to set the Eurockéennes on fire in Belfort, France, Thursday 4 July 2024. “I am very happy. It’s a really important festival for Swiss artists,” says the 27-year-old from Lausanne, who has already performed in France, Germany and Belgium.

The rapper has this opportunity on an operation called Iceberg. “The Eurockéennes is a Franco-Swiss support project for the French and the Swiss part of the CMA Foundation that supports and develops current music in French-speaking Switzerland,” explains Kem Lalot, Eurockéennes programmer. . Thanks to this foundation, French artists can express themselves beyond our borders. The Vaudoise’s supercharged energy and spirit with lyrics is as powerful as the Frenchman’s immediate inspiration. “I had the opportunity to see her in practice and then on stage. Because of the shock she got, it was obvious to me that she would be scheduled with us,” he says.

In addition, this collaboration gives Nathalie a big boost. “Today, not all artists have the means to live properly. We can be in very precarious situations. Having support from institutions, having a framework and people who know about administration and the music industry allows us to develop our projects,” she said with great joy.

Another form of collaboration also occurs between music events. In 2024, the Quebec Summer Festival (FEQ) welcomes the Swiss Baby Volcano on July 4, and Quebecer Ariane Roy will perform on July 24 at the Paléo Festival in Nyon. Mathieu Monnier, who heads the Paléo programs, welcomes the exchange of emerging talents. “We have had a very good relationship with the FEQ organizers for many years,” he said. All visit each other’s festivals regularly. This exchange operation allows the development of good visibility for “local” artists in an international territory.”
