Tiago Rodrigues Bastos, Vítor Escária’s lawyer, refused to comment on the seizure of more than 75 thousand euros in his client’s office, in São Bento. Speaking to journalists, outside the Central Criminal Investigation Court, at the Justice Campus, in Lisbon, where he had been since Wednesday afternoon and only left after midnight, Rodrigues Bastos guaranteed, however, that Vítor Escária will not excuse himself from “providing any necessary clarifications”
“The defendants, I believe that all of them will provide the necessary clarifications and therefore mine too, obviously Dr. Vítor Escária will not fail to do so”.
However, regarding the more than 75 thousand euros seized by the PSP in the office of the head of the prime minister’s office, not a word to journalists.
“You will understand one thing, I will not, this is a subversion of the rules and disrespect towards the court, I will not provide any clarification on the matter here, I will provide it inside and then we will talk at the end of this”, he stated, adding that “Vítor Escária is calm, he is calm, he is confident”.
