The film about the most important reggae performer in the history of the genre will be directed by Reinaldo Marcus Green, a black nominee for the Cannes IFF (Monsters and Men, King Richard with Will Smith). Collider reports.
He will also act as a co-scriptwriter of the project, along with fellow “Richard” Zach Baelin (triquel “Creed”). The project is produced by Bob’s eldest son Ziggy Marley, carefully controlling the details. The cast has not yet been selected, there is no premiere date.
The script is in progress. It is known that he will focus on the recording of Marley’s verst album Exodus (1977), the action will begin in 1976.
At the same time, Green assures that they have already received the rights to use the original music in their film.
Bab Marley died in May 1981 in Miami at the age of 36 from cancer.
