The Royal Oman Police said in a statement that the North Al Sharqia Governorate Police Command had arrested four Asians for stealing electrical cables from various locations. The Royal Oman Police said it had completed legal proceedings against the detainees.

Air Force man finds stranded man in Oman desert
Muscat: A man stranded in the desert in Oman has been found and taken to hospital. A man has gone missing in the Empty Quarter desert in the Ibri province, which is part of the Al Dahira governorate in Oman.
The search was carried out by helicopter with the help of the Royal Air Force of Oman. He was rushed to Ibri Hospital where he was pronounced dead at the scene. Oman’s Ministry of Defense said in a statement that all necessary steps have been taken to ensure health and safety.
Low rates for expatriate visa renewal will come into effect from today
Muscat: The reduction in visa renewal fees in Oman will take effect from today. The visa fees for expatriates were reduced on the instructions of the ruler, Sultan Haitham bin Tariq. With the new rates coming into effect today, the penalty for delay in renewal of work permits has also been waived. But there is a condition that the process should be completed by September one.
Fees for issuing and renewing a visa have been reduced. Oman’s Ministry of Human Resources has already issued new visa fees following the Sultan’s directive. Companies that have met the repatriation rate will get a 30 per cent discount on the new fee.
