Four injured in an explosion in the Har Tov industrial area

An explosion occurred this morning (Wednesday) at the Har Tov industrial zone plant near Beit Shemesh. Four workers who were at the scene were injured, three of them in critical condition, with extensive burns on their bodies.
And a fourth wounded in mild to moderate condition, fully conscious.

The Israel Police stated: “Recently, a report was received about a machine explosion incident at a frames factory in the Har Tov area in Beit Shemesh and as a result a fire started at the factory. “Police forces on the spot are carrying out preliminary operations to close the arena, evacuation routes and at the same time assisting emergency and rescue services.”

The Ihud Hatzalah – Jerusalem District spokesman said: “The Ihud Hatzalah ambulance team is currently providing initial assistance to seven casualties (at this stage all conscious) at a factory in the Har Tov industrial area. According to passers-by, an explosion was heard while they were working and they were injured.”

Eliezer Tayeb, a paramedic from the Rescue Union, said: “According to passers-by, an explosion was heard and a fire broke out while they were working and as a result they were injured as a result of burns, blows and inhalation of smoke.

A MDA spokesman said: At 11:48, a report was received at MDA’s 101 hotline in the Jerusalem area about a number of workers who were injured during work at a factory in the industrial area near Beit Shemesh. MDA medics and paramedics provide medical treatment to 7 wounded in a moderate and mild condition with burns to their upper body.
