Thiruvananthapuram: Four members of a family who ate fish curry have contracted food poisoning. The food poisoning was reported by people who bought fish from the graveyard old market. The fish was bought by Biju. Four members of his family were diagnosed with food poisoning. Biju bought a chicken fish from a shop for Rs 200.

The fish curry was eaten on Friday afternoon. After eating this, Biju’s daughter first experienced abdominal pain. During the night, Biju’s wife also experienced abdominal pain. Biju also felt better this afternoon. During the night, the second daughter also experienced abdominal pain. Following this, the four had to seek treatment at a private hospital.

Meanwhile, another person who bought fish from the same shop where Biju bought fish this evening was getting worms from the cane fish. He then lodged a complaint with the Collectorate. Venjarammoodu police and Kallara village officer reached the spot and collected samples of the fish.

Authorities believe the stale fish was found the previous day. It is learned that further inspections by the health department will be conducted at the shop tomorrow.
