That will also roughly be the amount of time he will still spend in Leverkusen.” Hans Wirtz continued: “There is no answer to what will happen and when. We should wait for the next two years and then we will see where the path leads.”
Nevertheless, a transfer is considered conceivable. Especially if coach Xabi Alonso leaves Leverkusen. Because he is considered a great supporter of the 21-year-old. “Florian is very lucky with Xabi Alonso, who has a lot of qualities,” said his father: “He treats the entire team brilliantly. However, one obstacle could be the transfer fee that Wirtz could cost. Leverkusen is reportedly demanding around 150 million euros for the national player. FC Bayern, for example, would hardly pay such a sum, but they would pay more than 100 million. Club patron Uli Hoeneß said in April: “We can spend 100 million euros on a Harry Kane once, maybe again on a German player.” Two months later he made it clear that he would “love to see Florian Wirtz at FC Bayern”.
