Kuwait City: A local newspaper reported that a court sentenced an employee of the Residency Affairs Department to four years in prison for accepting a bribe from an expatriate. The case alleges that a bribe of 500 dinars was taken from a native of Pakistan in return for making a transaction related to an entry visa. The incident happened in early June. The case came to light when the police received a tip-off that a bribe had been taken.

Then the accused was arrested along with the evidence and subjected to legal proceedings. Recently, legal action was taken against a traffic employee suspected of illegally issuing driving licenses to non-residents by taking bribes. The fraud came to light when the driving license of non-residents was started to be checked in order to exclude the ineligible and withdraw the illegally issued licences.
