India, Germany, Brazil, Japan, France and Britain have expressed their support for the appointment of India, Germany, Brazil and Japan as permanent members of the New York-UN Security Council.

The highest body of the UN, the UN Security Council, has 15 member states. America, Britain, France, Russia and China are five permanent members.

India is currently a non-permanent member of the Security Council. The two-year term ends next month.

The UN has long been urged to expand and reform the Security Council.

In particular, many countries are insisting that India, Germany, Brazil and Japan should be made permanent members.

In this case, the consultation meeting regarding the change in the Security Council is going on in New York. France, Britain and other countries that participated in this meeting urged India, Germany, Brazil and Japan to become permanent members.
