France beat Germany three sets to nil for their first match

The introduction is successful. The French volleyball team, Olympic champions, won three sets to zero (25-22, 28-26, 26-24) against Germany, at the opening of the world championship in Ljubljana, Friday August 26.

With this success, obtained without losing a single round, the Blues are already opening the door to the round of 16; they will face Slovenia on Sunday, then Cameroon on Tuesday to conclude the group stage.

The only award missing from the Blues list

They are aiming for a clear round in the group stage to benefit from an opponent a priori more favorable in the round of 16. Their goal: the final, which will take place on September 11 in Poland, in order to win the only reward missing from tricolor volleyball, winner of Euro 2015 then crowned in Tokyo last summer.

In the wake of this Olympic coronation, the Blues had been ejected from the knockout stages of Euro 2021. Since then, they have changed coaches, since the Italian Andrea Giani replaced the Brazilian Bernardinho, who threw in the towel early spring for personal reasons.

Since the arrival of the Italian legend on the bench, they won the League of Nations in July, before teaching Brazil a lesson (3-0) last Saturday in preparation for the World Cup. They start the competition on the same dynamic.
