The owner and president of Olympique Marseille asked to be buried in the Mediterranean city, which he considered the “city of the heart”. Tapie had been ill for a long time with cancer and was unable to attend the hearings of the trial in which he was accused of fraud in the Credit Lyonnais case last May.
