France is on red alert against spread of mosquito that causes dengue

Most of the French territory is currently in a state of maximum surveillance alert against the spread of the tiger mosquito, transmitter of the dengue, chikungunya and zika viruses, among other tropical diseases. With the record temperatures recorded this summer, health authorities note an increase in the spread of this insect, also known by the scientific names Aedes albopictus or Stegomyia albopicta.
