This cultural event took place within the framework of the partnership concluded between the Hauts-de-France Region and the Marrakech-Safi Region and with the aim of consolidating cultural and professional exchanges between the Safi Hotel Institute and the LHIL, indicates a press release from the consular representation.
During this week, several workshops were led by teachers and students from the Lycée in order to highlight the cultural richness of Morocco, in all its aspects, particularly in terms of gastronomy, adds the same source.
This is how teachers and students of the high school, taking advantage of their previous visits to Moroccan hotel institutions, within the framework of the partnership between the two regions, were active, throughout the week, to teach Moroccan culinary art and promote Moroccan flavors in all the kitchens of the high school as well as in the related training restaurant, open to the general public.
The Moroccan cultural week was also intended to be a major exhibition dedicated to crafts, caftan, spices, artistic paintings and Moroccan decorations and musical instruments.
At the same time, spaces in the high school bookstore served as places for discussion and hosted several workshops, including henna, Arabic calligraphy and Moroccan tea preparation. Television screens in the same space projected, on a loop, folk performances from all regions of Morocco.
The cultural week of Morocco, which saw the visit of several personalities, including those from the Regional Council of the Hauts-de-France Region, ended with an official dinner, with Moroccan flavors, in the presence of honor of the headmaster of the high school and the Consul General of Morocco in Lille, Habiba Zemmouri.
In a speech delivered on the occasion, Ms. Zemmouri thanked the organizers for this initiative, which highlights the richness of Moroccan gastronomy as well as several components of Moroccan art and culture, thus contributing to intercultural dialogue.
