We had to wait 10 more minutes to see the Blues. The kick-off of the friendly match between France and Scotland, this Tuesday evening in Lille, was postponed from 9 p.m. to 9:10 p.m. due to the reinforced security protocol around the Pierre-Mauroy stadium. The pat-downs of the thousands of expected supporters took longer, and the flow of spectators at the entrance to the enclosure was slowed down.

The organizers therefore decided to postpone the kick-off to allow as many people as possible to attend. 20 minutes before this delayed kick-off, there were still quite a few people outside the stadium in Villeneuve d’Ascq. The spectators were all able to take their places before the start of the match.

A minute of silence well respected

Before the kick-off, and just after the two national anthems, a minute of silence was observed after the attack which took the lives of two supporters who came to attend the match between Belgium and Sweden, this Monday in Brussels . In its press release, UEFA explained that it wanted to “salute the memory of the victims”. As during the quarter-finals of the Rugby World Cup, all those affected by the terrorist attacks, whether in Israel, Palestine, Arras or Brussels, were honored.

Kick-off was then given at 9:10 p.m. The meeting can be followed live on TF1, and with live commentary on the Le Parisien website. On the Blues side, the attacking trio Mbappé-Giroud-Dembélé promises spectacle and goals.
