France has stripped journalist Stellio Gilles Robert Capo Chichi, who writes under the pseudonym Kemi Seba, of his citizenship for criticizing the country’s policies in Africa.
As reported by Day.Az, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, wrote about this on her Telegram channel.
The diplomat asked herself, “for what sins” did the French authorities take away the passport of a famous public figure.
“You won’t believe it – for criticizing France’s policy in Africa,” wrote Zakharova.
She added that even supporters of the current French President Emmanuel Macron can hardly call Paris’s foreign policy on the African continent “worthy of flattering epithets.”
According to Zakharova, neither the traditional French philosophical notions of democracy and freedom of speech, nor modern interpretations of tolerance and a passion for human rights have saved France from what the famous journalist called “negrophobic neocolonialism.”
