Consumer prices in France, harmonised with European Union standards, increased by 2.7% year-on-year in July.

As reported by Day.Az, this is stated in the report of the National Statistical Office Insee, which presented the final data.

Thus, inflation accelerated compared to June, when prices rose by 2.5%.

A 2.6% price increase had been previously announced and analysts had not expected a revision, according to Trading Economics.

The July inflation estimate in monthly terms was revised up to 0.2% from 0.1%. Thus, its rate remained at the June level.

Consumer prices, calculated according to French standards, rose by 2.3% year-on-year and 0.2% month-on-month last month. In June, the former rose by 2.2% and the latter by 0.1%.

The rise in energy prices in France in July accelerated to 8.5% year-on-year from 4.8% a month earlier, while food prices slowed to 0.5% from 0.8%.

Services increased in price by 2.5% (2.9% a month earlier).

It is worth noting that due to rising unemployment, high interest rates and weak economic growth, New Zealand is being left in record numbers.
