Paris: France is going to make a more advanced version of its fighter jet. In collaboration with Dassault Aviation, France aims to create a version of Rafale that will perform better than America’s fifth generation fighter jet F-35. It can be named Rafale F5 or ‘Super Rafale’. France hopes that this latest version of its flagship fighter jet will once again hold its own in the market. In recent years, Rafale has been facing a challenge from the American F-35 in the international market. The new version of Rafale is planned to be ready by 2030.
Will be able to protect from enemy attack
Dassault Aviation has suffered defeat in supplying fighter jets to European countries in front of the F-35. These failures in Europe have inspired the French fighter jet manufacturer to develop the Super Rafale. The Super Rafale version will be designed to operate in conjunction with a wingman drone called nEUROn. Pilots will control this latest fighter version autonomously. This aircraft will be able to protect itself and other systems involved in its operation during an enemy attack. For this, it will be equipped with radar jamming and self-defense systems.
Will be capable of carrying guided missiles
The jamming radars installed on the Super Rafale will overcome the problems of the current Rafale jets. Apart from this, ‘Super Rafale’ is also being designed to carry guided missiles made in collaboration with France and Britain. These include Future Cruise Missile and Future Anti-Shif Missile. The latest Rafale fighter version will also have a targeting pod, which will bring together the strengths of Talios and Rico NG.
Will work like an air combat system
The ‘Talios’ targeting pod is used in the Rafale F3R and Rafale F4 variants, while the Rico NG targeting pod is used in the Mirage aircraft. Apart from this, ‘Super Rafale’ will also be designed to carry hypersonic nuclear missiles. French defense website ‘Meta Defense’ reports that Super Rafale will be developed at a high level. It is not just a fighter jet but like an air combat system, which is based on a system within a system.
