The industrial tribunal ruled in favor of Jean-François Laville against France Télévisions Stephen Caillet / Stephen Caillet / Panoramic

The France Télévisions group was condemned to the prud’hommes for having abusively dismissed Jean-François Laville, former editor-in-chief of the sports department following the Clémentine Sarlat affair.

The letter A reveals that the France Télévisions group was ordered to pay 150,000 euros to journalist Jean-François Laville, dismissed in 2020 from the sports department, and who was accused of “sexist and/or discriminatory remarks».

An interview published in the Team of Clémentine Sarlat had been at the origin of the affair. The France TV journalist had denounced “a male interpersonality” and one “permanent gravelly humor” in the service of sports. An investigation had been opened by the management of the groupending with the dismissal of three journalists: Alain Vernon, Pierre-Etienne Léonard and Jean-François Laville.

In 2022, the industrial tribunal had already ruled in favor of Pierre-Etienne Leonard, forcing France Télévisions to pay him 45,000 euros in compensation and 100,000 euros in damages for dismissal “abusive” et «without real and serious cause”. The case of Alain Vernon is examined this Wednesday in Paris.
