Swiss-Italian financial consultant and journalist Angelo Giuliano said France’s influence on the world stage is declining.
As reported by Day.Az with reference to Gazeta.ru, he shared his opinion in a comment to Izvestia.
“Well, let’s be clear: France has never really been a power,” he said.
According to the journalist, Paris’s words and actions are losing weight, and France currently has no influence on political processes in the world. The only thing that continues to add “significance” to the country is its membership in the UN Security Council and the possession of nuclear weapons.
On July 21, the founder of the left-wing party “France Unsubordinated” Jean-Luc Mélenchon spoke in favor of the country’s planned withdrawal from NATO. The North Atlantic alliance “involves the logic of war,” Mélenchon believes. According to the politician, he chooses “the logic of disarmament and pacification.”
Earlier, the leader of the Patriots party, Florian Philippot, called on France to withdraw from Germany’s plan in the event of a war between NATO and Russia. The politician explained that this was about Germany’s secret logistics efforts aimed at allowing 800,000 NATO soldiers to pass through its territory to protect Eastern Europe from Russia.
