Born in 1982 in Cameroon, Francis Meli has established himself as a renowned producer, director and editor. Passionate self-taught, he left his mark in 2013 with his documentary “ Atchuelah » ; the veneration of ancestors, presented at FESTICAB, RADO, ÉCRANS NOIRS, and broadcast on TV5 Monde. This first success propelled it onto the international scene as it was selected in Morocco as part of UNESCO’s documentary film month (intangible heritage).

Two years later, Francis Meli confirmed his talent with “My child, my fight”, another documentary noticed on ÉCRANS NOIRS and broadcast on TV5 Monde, as well as on several African television channels. In 2023, his third documentary film, “Get married!” », addresses the social pressures on single people in Cameroon, highlighting the consequences and psychological impact of these expectations. The first broadcast on TV5 MONDE in March 2024 aroused public enthusiasm for the depth of the theme and the subtle way in which it approaches the subject.

Francis Meli is not limited to his role as director. Sensitive to climate issues, Francis Meli is currently involved in a new documentary exploring the causes of the disappearance of raffia trees in western Cameroon.
