Eintracht Frankfurt beat Marseille in France today (Tuesday) 0:1, in a match in which an unusual incident was recorded. Two Frankfurt fans were recorded saluting with their hands, in a game that was previously defined as a “high-risk game”.
The Frankfurt ultras tried to incite the Marseille fans, and their behavior even led to an official condemnation of the team. Frankfurt is considered a team that struggles with some of its fans from the extreme right, which led to the same condemnation.
“We condemn the behavior of the fans,” Frankfurt wrote. “The anti-Semitic conduct fundamentally contradicts the values of the club. One of the fans has already announced that he is not a Nazi, but we will continue to investigate the incident comprehensively.”
The team’s fans also condemned: “We are ashamed of the fans from Frankfurt who carry the eagle symbol and saluted like Nazis. They do not belong to this club, to this city or to us.”
