Frankfurt: Volksfest Dippemess away?: “We are shocked” | Regional

by time news

Frankfurt (Hesse) – Showmen and visitors to Dippemess are skeptical!

Whether the popular folk festival could cope with a (politically planned) move at all?

Background: Because the fairground at Ratsweg as a location planned for the new construction of the European School, Dippemess, circus and other major events are to be avoided. Either in the large exhibition center car park on the Rebstock site. Or – according to the most recent speculation in the magistrate – on the wasteland at the Kaislerei, on the other side of the Main on the city limits of Offenbach. On the municipal site was times the construction of a multifunctional hall is planned.

What exhibitors and visitors say:

Dippemess restaurateur Patrick Hausmann (35): “The fairground on the Ratsweg is established, but it would need to be renovated… Kaiserlei, that’s something that’s new, we’ll have to take a look at it first. It is not allowed to take a quick shot. We also pay trade tax in Frankfurt – and not too little.”

Mariana Ropers (49, Photo oben): “We’ve been coming here for 10 years, you can throw cans and archery here. We didn’t even know that Dippemess was going to be relocated, we are shocked and feel marginalized by the city. Anything outside is hard to get to and bad for business.”

Wesley Spindler (17) am Los-Stand: “I’ll find the solution Imperial best. There is more space for us showmen and lots of parking spaces for visitors, it is right next to the autobahn, and the S-Bahn also stops there. Definitely easier to reach than on the Rebstock.”

Loredana (40) and Andrea (45) with their children Emil (9), Neo (8), Mina (12) and Eddy (7): “We come directly from Bergen-Enkheim here by train. None of the new locations can offer us that. But if we had to choose, it would be the Rebstock site. At least we know each other a little bit. We would first have to see how we would get to the Kaiserlei.”

Regina Lagron (35) with her crêpes stand: “The Dippemess should ideally stay on the Ratsweg, it’s an old tradition here. There is no better place. People come here from everywhere, even from neighboring states. Getting there is much easier for them if the train stops directly here.”
