Fraud noticed in time!: Banker saves Mrs. Christmas | Regional

by time news

Ludwigshafen – A bank employee probably gave a woman (61) from Limburgerhof in Rhineland-Palatinate her best Christmas present this year.

Unexpectedly, the woman received a WhatsApp from her son before the party – as she had to assume. Who lamented his predicament in the text message and asked his mother to help him pay the bills. He wanted a handsome 3200 euros.

Because it was almost Christmas and her son seemed to be in a tight spot, the woman immediately transferred the money – and was lucky.

The clerk at her bank suspected fraud and initially withheld the money until the case was sufficiently clarified. Which then actually turned out to be a fraud attempt.

The police said: “Use extreme caution and proceed with the necessary skepticism in the event of unusual requests for the transfer of money. Especially if the money is then to be transferred to foreign accounts!”
