Fraud of Rs.16¼ lakhs from the dealer

A case has been registered against a person who defrauded a trader of Rs 16¼ lakh by claiming to buy a seat for his son in a Canadian university.

According to the police:-

Nagaraj (age 54) belongs to Tiruvadhirai Gardens, Vellalur, Coimbatore. Iron Wholesaler. He wanted his son to study at Cape University in Canada. Then he met Ilangumaran (40) from Chennai.

He said that he has bought tickets to study in many countries including Canada and he will get tickets for admission of your son in Cape University in Canada. He said it would cost money.

16¼ lakh fraud

Believing it to be true, Nagaraj paid Rs. 16 lakh 43 thousand 933 into Ilangumaran’s bank account in the hope that his son would get a seat to study in Canada.

But as he said, he did not buy a seat to study in the university. Also the money was not returned. Sensing that he was duped, Nagaraj lodged a complaint with the Singhanallur police.

The police registered a case against Ilangumaran under the categories of breach of trust and fraud. The police are investigating the case.
