Chennai: The police arrested a man who started a fake company in Vadapalani, Chennai and cheated youths of several lakhs of rupees by promising to get jobs abroad.

In the complaint filed by Josephine Rayan from Ramapuram in the Chennai Police Commissioner’s Office, she had mentioned that ‘action should be taken against Ramesh (38) from Tiruvekadu who cheated many people by taking lakhs of rupees by running an office under a fake name and sending educated youths to work abroad.’

Subsequently, the Central Crime Branch police registered a case in the Employment Fraud Prevention Unit and started investigation. During the investigation, it was revealed that without the permission of the government, Hariramesh received money of Rs.10 lakh by falsely running an office called Greenways Enterprises in Vadapalani, Chennai and sending educated youths to work abroad.

Also, it was revealed that he cheated them by promising to get jobs for bitters, welders, carpenters and mechanics in countries like Singapore, Malaysia, Dubai, Canada, Russia and Poland. Subsequently, 45 passports, 100 medical certificates, cars and two-wheelers were confiscated from him and he was arrested and imprisoned.
