Recovery Until the Ventilator is Removed: “Miraculous Recovery”

On the 1st (Japan time 2nd), Chelsea, the wife of Dodgers infielder Freddie Freeman, revealed that their youngest son, Max, has developed “Guillain-Barré syndrome.” She shared on her Instagram, “After multiple tests, it has been confirmed that Max is fighting severe Guillain-Barré syndrome.”

Guillain-Barré syndrome is a disorder affecting the peripheral nervous system, causing sudden weakness in the arms and legs. Max contracted a viral infection during the All-Star period and fell into full-body paralysis. Chelsea wrote, “This has been the most challenging time in our lives, and we felt immense fear. However, Max is a special little boy and is truly fighting hard. (From here) it will be a journey to recovery, but we believe we will completely heal.”

Max is reportedly on the path to recovery. “Yesterday, Max was able to remove the breathing tube and ventilator. This is a significant victory for us,” Chelsea revealed. “We believe in the power of prayer and are witnessing a miraculous recovery. We would appreciate it if you could continue to pray for Max and our family. We are truly grateful and feel everyone’s support,” she expressed her gratitude.

Freeman has appeared in 104 games this season, recording a batting average of .288, with 16 home runs and 67 RBIs. He left the team before the away game against the Astros on July 26 (27th), and has been on the “family emergency list” since the 27th (28th).
