Free users are facing a “technical incident” from this Friday afternoon which prevents “TV services”, according to a message from the company. Xavier Niel on his social networks published in the early evening. “Our teams are gathering strength to solve the problem,” provides the services of Free sur X.
On the same social network, many customers have reported breakdowns with their Freebox, both in terms of TV supply and Internet supply. For some of them, who tried to restart their device, the device apparently got stuck “at step 6” of the reset. “Do not restart your Free box, it is useless,” the company warns.

“Personally, my Internet is full, the box is blocked at step 6,” said one Internet user. “Me too. I had a bad idea to restart my box. And now it’s no more TV but no more Internet,” complained another.
“Freebox failure. Totally buggy TV streaming, Freebox freezes at step 6 after restarting… And customer service is useless! Bravo Free, great rubbish, as usual,” one user protested. “Try to warn your customers, almost all of us have this reaction to restart the box. I’ve been a customer of yours for a few years but now it’s seriously starting to bother me, you have frequent breakouts,” said another.
The company promises its subscribers to keep them informed of developments in the situation. According to our colleagues at BFMTV, this technical event is not necessarily connected to the gigantic computer failure which has damaged many companies, but airlines around the world.
Around 11 p.m., “all affected services” are “gradually returning,” the company announced.
