Free Cancer Treatment for Insured Persons Under Section 33 and Section 39

In a recent announcement, the government has revealed that insured persons under Section 33 and Section 39 who are diagnosed with 20 types of cancer can receive treatment free of charge. This initiative is being provided through the Social Security Office Ministry of Labor and aims to support insured individuals throughout their cancer treatment journey.

According to Mr. Karom Phonphonklang, Deputy Spokesperson for the Prime Minister’s Office, insured persons under Sections 33 and 39 will receive free cancer treatment until the end of their treatment, as long as it is in accordance with the prescribed guidelines (Protocol). In cases where treatment deviates from the guidelines and requires the use of cancer medicine, chemotherapy, or radiotherapy, insured individuals can withdraw medical expenses up to 50,000 baht per patient per year.

The coverage extends to 20 types of cancer, including breast cancer, cervical cancer, ovarian cancer, uterine cancer, nasopharyngeal cancer, lung cancer, colon and rectal cancer, esophageal cancer, liver and bile duct cancer, and more. This comprehensive coverage is part of the government’s efforts to improve the quality of life for insured persons and ensure that they have convenient access to medical treatment.

Mr. Karom emphasized the government’s commitment to raising service standards and providing comprehensive support to insured individuals. He encouraged the public to seek information from the Social Security Office website or contact their local office or the hotline for additional information.

This announcement highlights the government’s dedication to supporting individuals during their cancer treatment and reflects a broader effort to enhance healthcare services for insured persons. For more information and support, insured individuals are encouraged to reach out to the Social Security Office.]
