Ministry of Health & Population Provides Free Family Planning and Reproductive Health Services
The Ministry of Health and Population announced that it is offering free family planning and quality reproductive health services at all fixed units and mobile clinics located across cities and villages nationwide.
Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the official spokesman for the Ministry of Health and Population, emphasized that the health units are providing counseling, family planning, and reproductive health services, along with pregnancy and ultrasound follow-up by specialists. Additionally, family planning methods and medications are being dispensed free of charge in various facilities including fixed and mobile clinics, urban centers, general and central hospitals, and health care centers that focus on motherhood and childhood.
Furthermore, Dr. Doaa Muhammad, the Head of the Central Department of Family Planning and Reproductive Health Services, highlighted that the Ministry is offering safe and effective family planning methods, including long-acting ones such as the copper and hormonal IUD, as well as the Implanon Next capsule. The Ministry has also introduced Cyana injections to meet the diverse needs of the population. These efforts are aimed at promoting the use of family planning methods and reducing unmet need.
