Free HPV Vaccination Now Available for Thai Women in Bangkok

The Medical Office Bangkok has announced the initiation of a free HPV vaccination program for Thai women aged 11-20 years in an effort to prevent cervical cancer. The vaccinations will begin on November 13, 2023, and will be available at 11 hospitals under the Medical Office in Bangkok.

The Ministry of Public Health recently announced the “Quick Win 100” plan, with a goal to administer 1 million doses of HPV vaccine within 100 days. This initiative aims to prevent cervical cancer, which is the second most common disease in Thai women after breast cancer. Cervical cancer has a death rate of more than 50%, making prevention imperative.

According to the Medical Office Bangkok, the HPV vaccine should be administered before the individual has ever had sex and at an age when their body can develop immunity efficiently.

The hospitals offering the free HPV vaccination services are as follows:

1. Central Hospital
2. Taksin Hospital
3. Charoenkrung Pracharak Hospital
4. Luang Phor Thaweesak Hospital
5. Wechakarunrasamee Hospital
6. Lat Krabang Hospital
7. Ratchaphiphat Hospital
8. Khlong Sam Wa Hospital
9. Sirindhorn Hospital
10. Bang Khun Thian Hospital for the Elderly
11. Bangna Hospital

The vaccination services are available during weekdays at the specified locations and times.

The Medical Office Bangkok urges Thai women aged 11-20 years to take advantage of this free HPV vaccination program to reduce their risk of developing cervical cancer.
