The Ministry of Public Health in Bangkok has announced the opening of 11 walk-in stations to provide free HPV vaccination to prevent cervical cancer. The Quick Win plan aims to administer 1 million doses of the HPV vaccine within 100 days in order to prevent the occurrence of cervical cancer.

Cervical cancer is the second most common disease in Thai women after breast cancer, with a death rate of more than 50%. The most effective method of disease prevention is to receive the HPV vaccine before ever having sex, as the body is at an age where the immune system can be developed for maximum efficiency.

The walk-in stations will provide free cervical cancer vaccination services for girls aged 11-20 years. The vaccination stations will be open at various hospitals from Monday to Friday, with specific hours and locations for each hospital.

Starting from 13th November 2023, girls aged 11-20 years who were born between 1 January 2003 and 31 December 2012 are eligible to receive the HPV vaccine for free. They are required to present their ID card in order to receive the vaccination service.

The opening of these walk-in stations provides a convenient and accessible way for young girls in Bangkok to receive the HPV vaccine and protect themselves from cervical cancer. The Ministry of Public Health aims to reach as many eligible girls as possible within the 100-day time frame in order to prevent the occurrence of this deadly disease.]
