jpnn.comJAKARTA – Head of the Legal Aid Center (PBH) Peradi Cikarang Branch, Ridwan said, there are many ways for advocates to provide free legal aid (pro bono) to the underprivileged or poor.

One of them, he said, is providing legal assistance to job seekers who are victims of fraud, cases of which are often common in industrial areas such as Bekasi Regency, West Java (Jabar).

‎”We receive a lot of consultations or complaints from prospective job seekers and the number is not small,” he said when delivering the material on Pro bono Obligations for Advocates in the Special Education for the Advocate Profession (PKPA) batch IV of the West Jakarta (Jakbar) DPC Peradi and Al-Azhar Indonesia University (UAI) Jakarta.

Ridwan said the number of victims could be relatively large because many people are in need of work. “Their condition is in need of work, they are very easily influenced by their subconscious,” he said.

He said that because the number was relatively large, his party opened a complaint post for victims of fraud under the guise of recruiting workers. Through this post, his party collected evidence to report to the police and related parties.

“Just remember, for these labor frauds, we have to be observant because sometimes they have layers,” he said.

Ridwan gave an example of one of the modes, namely the party or operator in the field who is tasked with finding prospective workers as victims, is not directly connected to the Job Training Institute (LPK) or outsourcing institution.

‎“They could have reasons, it is beyond our knowledge. [LPK]. It requires in-depth analysis if you want to trap outsourcing with a series of events that occur in the field since recruitment,” he said.
